Floral Maxi Skirt

In almost every store I've noticed an array of maxi skirts and dresses in every color. The best part is you can change it not only from a skirt to a dress, but can dress it up or down depending on your accessories. Frankly, I haven't been able to find one that I fell head-over-heels for. Don't settle for any old maxi skirt, make one instead!

 Supplies
- 2 yards of flowy material
- scissors
- pins
- 2 inch elastic
- sewing machine

Lay out your material on a flat surface and measure out the desired length + 3 inches. (2 for the hem, one for sewing on the waist band)

Cut off the access material.

Pin the two long edges together and sew together. Make sure to straight stitch and zig-zag this seam so it doesn't come undone.

Measure the elastic around you waist, but don't pull it tight. Overlap the two ends 1 inch then sew as seen above. Do the cross first and then sew the edges.

Choose which edge you want to be the top, then zig-zag over it so it wont fray.

Line the top edge up with the edge of the elastic and sew together. Make sure to pull the elastic as you sew so it gathers the skirt. Line up the seam on the skirt with the X you made on the the waist band.

Flip the seam in so the elastic lays flat.
